Our own Rob Callahan is the Melville Chamber of Commerce Spotlight member for the month of December. Mr. Callahan is the Career Development and Occupational Studies Coordinator at Walt Whitman High School. Most notably is the schools’ Career Pathways Business Program, a student-centered stackable credential program designed to prepare our students with Job Readiness skills. Students participating in the Program at Walt Whitman High School develop transferable skills they will need to transition from high school to the next level in their Career Pathway, whether it is the workplace, community college, vocational school, or a four-year college program. By training our students to communicate, solve problems, and present their ideas, we will be developing a well-rounded student whose skills will be in demand in the workplace now and beyond 2020.
