On Tuesday, August 29th, Walt Whitman High School hosted a freshmen orientation seminar designed to inspire and motivate our incoming freshmen to become active within the school building and make their mark on Whitman. During the orientation, over 250 students got a chance to learn about the school and each other, through a series of games and activities designed to make students work together towards a common goal. “I have heard great things about this incoming class of freshman and from the number of you who came to participate today, tells me that you care about what happens in your high school, you care about your future, and importantly, you care about the people who will help you achieve your goals,” said Principal John Murphy, now entering his third year.  “A special thank you goes to our high school PTA for helping to make activities such as these a reality for our students,” concluded Murphy.
