The District was particularly proud that on Tuesday, June 6th, the anniversary of the D-Day invasion that began the march to democracy, we honored our military bound graduates with a special awards ceremony brunch.  The District Office Conference Room was brimming with patriotic pride, as community veterans Dennis Madden, Rich Russano, Carlo Giordano, Ken Carlson, Charlie Armstrong, Mike Williams, Phil Ludwig, Frank Ostroff, Vinny Crimaudo and Tony Braccia; BOE members Ms. Lisa Brieff, Ms. Michele DeGaetano and Mr. Nicholas Ciappetta; along with service staff members Robert Matedero, Charles Dispenzieri, Fred Dwyer, Stu Pray, Juan Ortiz and Carlo Giordano, joined with parents and friends joined to thank our nation’s newest role models and wish them well.

Congratulations to the following Walt Whitman seniors who have enlisted on our Nation’s Military:  Esteban Lopez, Trevor Gundersen, Emma Palka, Paul Naclerio, Christopher Shiraishi, Lee Rosario and Cedrick Victor.
