Teen Poets Celebrated @ Whitman

Walt Whitman is proud to congratulate 9 of our students as the Town of Huntington’s Poetry for the Hart winners.  Out of the 16 works selected to be honored, 9 of them were from Walt Whitman High School.  This event is part of a Public Art Initiative, where teen poets (ages 14 - 18), residing or attending school in Huntington Township, were encouraged to submit original works to be displayed inside buses on ad panels on the Town’s HART bus system for a minimum of one year. The winning entries are also published in The Long Islander newspaper. The following student’s names and titled works are listed below:
