The Stimson Showstoppers brought spring greetings to Atria Senior Residence in South Huntington last week. Everyone truly enjoyed the show and the residents loved singing along with our students.

Thank you to Showstopper Director Ms. Terri Haas who will be retiring at the end of this school year. The Stimson Showstoppers have been performing since 1994 under her direction and has been met with wide acclaim. Congratulations to the following students for a wonderful Showstopper spring season:  Hannah Albert, Kaitlyn Allen, Marisa Bobal, Haylee Caserta, Angelina Chiquitucto, Brianna Conroy, Ira Dubey, Brooke Feinman, Emily Gorecki, Serena Heddell, Alex Joshi, Salma Laraki, Violet LeClaire, Jennifer Lemus, Sophia Martinez, Sanjana Prionti, and Amanda Smuss.

The Showstoppers is an auditioned ensemble of up to thirty 7th and 8th grade singers who rehearse after school on Wednesdays, from 3-5pm starting in October.  Auditions are held twice a year; once in the Fall and again in February.  It is open to student members of the band, orchestra and chorus performance groups.  Please look for announcements in September.

The Showstoppers perform at many venues such as the Huntington Senior Citizens Holiday Luncheon and the Milleridge Inn in December.  Other regular performances past and present include the Huntington Book Revue, Huntington Hills Assisted Living Center and the Gurwen Geriatric Nursing Home.  The students have also performed with the Long Island Masterworks and the Huntington Choral Society and most recently with David Benoit at the IMAC (which is now the Paramount) in Huntington, NY.
