Congratulations varsity softball on winning their playoff game over West Islip by a score of 8-2. Taylor Epstein scattered 6 hits while striking out 11 in the complete game win. Taylor went 2-3 in the game, scored two runs and drove in four runs.

In the first inning, West Islip loaded the bases on two hits and a walk, only to see the senior Wildcat pitcher strike out the next three batters to end the threat. Walking the lead off batter proved a mistake as Taylor Epstein scored the first run after clutch hitting moved her around the bases. With Whitman up 1-0, both sided clamped down with solid defense and a break for West Islip came in the 5th inning after loading the bases and scoring two, but Whitman came up with a huge play at the plate to end the scoring threat. The Wildcats turned on the offense in the fifth and sixth innings.

Britany Khatachatourian was 2-2 with two runs scored and drove in one, and Riley Priomalli was 2-3, also with two runs scored and one RBI. Great defense by Lauren Civello, Melissa Triolo, and Noelle Bryggman kept West Islip off the bases. West Islip made one last scoring threat in the Seventh inning but a clutch catch by Melissa Triolo ended the game with the final score of 8-2. Come support the team as they travel to Deer Park on Saturday at 3PM. Great work, ladies!
