The Oakwood School Based Management (SBM) decided to honor our Nations VETS in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Since our children are so young, the SBM team decided it was best to celebrate our VETS as Heroes with a Thank You Banner. In Art classes, under the guidance of art teacher Noreen Erickson, students created “grade level” banners. The banners were presented by our Student Council representatives from Kindergarten, and Grades 1 and 2 on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 to American Legion Greenlawn Post 1244 “Heroes” Bob Santo, Charlie Armstrong, and Ed O’Shea. The banners are making their way to the VA Hospital in Northport to display for the Veterans there. Thank you Oakwood parent, and SBM member Ms. Lauren Fitzgerald, who organized the presentation on March 7.
