Thank You Son

Stimson student Cole Wenner had to think and act quickly back in December when our first snow was on its way. It wasn’t that he wanted to get in a ride on his Quad in the fresh snow, it was more that when he awoke at 5AM he found his mom on the bathroom floor too weak to move. They agreed that Cole would set the alarm on his phone for 10 minutes in which if his mom wasn’t up, they would call an ambulance.

Cole knew there was no way he was taking the Quad out in the fresh snow…he went right in and woke his dad and they called 911 immediately. Turns out it was a good thing, as Ms. Wenner was bleeding internally and minutes away from an untimely death. Once she was stabilized at Huntington Hospital she got the news that if it weren’t for Coles quick thinking, she would not be alive today.

The Town of Huntington acknowledged and awarded Cole a Proclamation recently at town hall, and of course the biggest award was his mom standing there next to him.

Way to Go Cole Wenner!
