Congratulations to Mrs. Lisa Hatton, South Huntington Union Free School District’s Teacher of the Year.

Mrs. Hatton has taught in the school district for sixteen years and has distinguished herself for innovative instructional activities and community service. She has been a leader in the field of technology, and her classroom is a showplace for active learning. She has integrated STEM activities into daily units, and has recently worked with the Student Spacecraft Experiment Program, a program which could one day extend human life into space.

In December, 2015 Lisa was recognized by ASSET with the Bright Lights Technology Award and was a nominee for a STANY Science Award during the same year. In addition to being a gifted teacher, her service to the community is remarkable. For many years, she had served as an Emergency Medical Technician on the Huntington Community First Aid Squad.

Congratulations to Lisa Hatton, Teacher of the Year!
