On Friday evening, January 13th, Walt Whitman’s Performing Arts Center was ‘packed to the rafters’ as Whitman's seniors held their annual "Follies" to the delight of everyone both on the stage and in the audience. ‘Follies’ is a seriously fun time where the seniors perform skits and roast their favorite teachers, administrators and celebrate all that high school life can be. Skits included: Altebrando's Army, Pip Roast, Driver Ed with Levant, and Graduation Song to name just a few.

The entire Whitman school community seemed to be present as a sold-out crowd of over 700 had a roaring great time.  18 hilarious skits were performed.  “The highlight skit had to be Layer's Lair, where the seniors danced with the school administration,” said senior class Advisor Ms. Diane Zamow. Congratulations to the senior class for putting on one of the best Senior Follies shows ever. "That was the best follies I've seen in a very long time,” said Social Studies teacher Roger Paquette. “Excellent!! What a crowd and atmosphere too!"  The students and staff really went out of their way to make this year such a memorable experience. “The work and talent that went into Senior Follies reflects the commitment level our students have to WWHS and their level of dedication,” said Principal John Murphy.   “We laughed, we cried…a good time was had by all! I could not be happier with what the students produced and will miss them when they leave here in June.”

Special thanks to the Senior Class Officers: Dylan Diamond, Ally Wirth, Paige Tortorice, Emily Dickson, Samantha Ruotolo, and James Reilly for coordinating this fantastic event.  Extra thanks to Alex Dollin for lighting and special effects, the Lamplighter team, SDE for sound equipment, the Whitman custodians and of course Mr. Murphy and the Walt Whitman Administrative team for being such good sports and participating in the show.
