This past Monday night, the Walt Whitman senior class took on the faculty in an exciting and entertaining series of 6 sporting events in the South Gymnasium. The Senior Faculty Sports Night is always an anticipated event as our seniors look to even-out a few grades points and our faculty like to remind the seniors that they once took to the sports courts, albeit for some, many moons ago.

From Basketball to Volleyball to Musical Chairs, the events were highly competitive, as you will see from the slide show below. An event titled Mission Impossible proved to be just that, as the obstacle course frustrated most of the contestants. Think you know musical chairs? This wasn’t a your grandfather’s musical chairs and the competitiveness rose to the surface as the seats dwindled.

Nerf Dodge Ball really brought out the seniors, all clamoring for a shot at their favorite teacher. With the not-so-soft balls whizzing by, it was a welcome relief for the 2 games to be over and the seniors declare victory.

The games were fierce - but fun was had by all. We especially want to thank the first all-female basketball team for starting a new tradition. The overall score went down to the last event of the evening – tug of war. The teachers won the first tug but the seniors came back to win the second and thus, the overall night.

Congratulations to the Walt Whitman Senior Class of 2017 on their victory. Thank you to Ms. Zamow for organizing this great event, and thank you faculty and seniors for providing boundless entertainment. If laughter were a gauge of winning, everyone won in this annual classic.
