New York State Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci stopped into Oakwood Primary Center on Tuesday to congratulate students on their commitment to reading.

New York Sate Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci invited South Huntington K-5 students to participate in a reading challenge to support students’ literacy achievement over this past summer, and prepare them for the new school year. The challenge required students to read at least 15 minutes a day for 40 or more days.

Once students read for 40 or more days, the student’s parent or guardian returned a completed reading calendar to Assemblyman Lupinacci’s office, and were then presented with a New York State Assembly Excellence in Reading Certificate. The following students met the challenge, submitted their reading calendar, and earned a reading certificate. Congratulations to these outstanding readers!
