Just in time for Halloween, kindergarten through third-grades classes in South Huntington participated in a Monster Match Video Collaboration through the NYS Distance Learning program. Students followed directions, practiced reading/writing skills, as well as collaborated through an interactive videoconferencing program.

Classes from across New York State were paired up with each class creating a monster using various materials and creative items. Each partner class recreated the monster based only on a written description that was composed by students in their partner class.  Classes then connected via video conference to compare their recreated monsters with the original monster sharing similarities, differences, as well as how the monster descriptions were written and interpreted. It was a SPOOKTACULAR TIME!

The following classes participated in this interactive learning experience that spanned from Elwood to Watertown, NY:  Mrs. Farkas, Mrs. Renda/Mrs. Tafe, Mrs. Roth/Mrs. Russotto, Ms.Vilar/Ms. Rodriguez, Mrs. Livoti, Mrs. Nicolino/Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Mitchell, and Mrs. Sanicola.
