At a recent Board of Education meeting, students from Oakwood and Countrywood Primary Centers were on hand to thank our Board of Education members for their dedication and commitment to providing a quality education.

Dedicated as ‘Board Appreciation Night,’ the evening began with a musical selection from Oakwood finest singers led by music teacher Ms. Luella Pinelli. Representative students from each primary center then presented board members a handcrafted gift and read a card that talked about all the things they were appreciative of. “The students in the Oakwood chorus performed beautifully, and it was heartwarming to watch the Oakwood and Countrywood students read their written sentiments and present hand-made gifts,” said BOE President Jim Kaden in this week’s Superintendents Newsletter.  “The students made the evening truly gratifying.”

A special thanks to Oakwood students: Ishe Patel, Alexis Koffer, Brooke Maiorana, and Amanda Moffett.  And a big thank you to Countrywood students: Maeve O’Connor, Marcus Chen, and Grant Borden.  PTA Council President Eleanora Ferrante, and Booster Club Vice President Jayne O’Toole also made a presentation to each Board member thanking them for their service to the district.
