Thursday, September 29th Walt Whitman Morning Announcements as submitted by individual coaches:

Congratulations Girls Varsity Field Hockey: The Team recorded its 2nd shutout of the season yesterday, beating Lindenhurst 2-0. Kathleen Dugan scored with an assist from Lauren Ragone and Taylor Epstein scored the 2nd goal with an assist from Kelsey McDonald. Goalies Emily Dickson and Kristy Campana combined for a total of 12 saves to secure the shutout. A great game was played by all. Come support the Lady Wildcats next Saturday when they take on crosstown rivals Half Hollow Hills.

Congratulations Girls Varsity Soccer: Yesterday, the team defeated Riverhead by a score of 4-0. Kristen Finnerty, Ang Rinaldi, Danielle Kleet and Rebecca DeWitt each scored for Whitman. Goalies Brittany Shaneburger and Ali Barton combined for 3 saves to secure the shutout. Come out on Friday at 4:30 to support the girls as they play in their senior game.

Congratulations Varsity Girls Volleyball: The Team won its 5th straight game yesterday over Commack by the score of 3 games to 1 led by their defense all day, as Lauren Civello, Olivia Poplawski, Natalie Zakrzewski, Maelyn Latko and Ally DeGaray combined for 73 digs in total. Ally DeGaray had 13 kills and Jessica Young had 8 to lead the offense. Great job by the whole team.

Congratulations JV Girls Tennis: The Team beat crosstown rival Huntington last night 5-2 in an exciting match that improved its record to 8-0. In singles play, Emma Graff, Anna Scortichini and Casey Gilmartin split their first 2 sets and won their 3rd set to gain victories for the Wildcats. In doubles action, Katie and Miata (LB) won in straight sets 6-2,6-1 while Stephanie Young and Samantha Vincent also won in straight sets 6-2,7-5. All the girls played extremely well.
