Maplewood Students Raise $5,628 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

The students atMaplewood Intermediate School participated again this year in the Math-a-Thon program and pledged to complete math activities to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Overall this year, the students raised $5,628.00 for the children at St. Jude Hospital.  Since 2002, third-grade teacher, Diane Labate has been coordinating this event at Maplewood for the students to participate in.  Since that time, the students from Maplewood have raised a grand total of $57,764.00 for the children at St. Jude Research Hospital.  "This was a very special year for me to coordinate this event," said Ms. Labate. "My student Trevor Kolar and his twin brother Myles participated in the event, and Myles just finished treatment for Leukemia in April."
