Stimson Track Stars Highlight Elks Invitational

The Elks Lodges provides medals, lunch for all competitors and coaches, and all the officials for this special event which they have run for Long Island’s track and field youth since the 1970's, all free of charge.

The Relay team of Aniyah Walters, Isabella Adamovicz, Emely Alfaro, and Cassidy Giudici placed third for bronze medals.

Seventh grader Aniyah Walters, ran a personal best, a school record, and a Meet record in the 55 m. hurdles with a time of 8.8.

Stimson’s Girls and Boys top track athletes competed at the Elks invitational at Comsewogue H.S. on Saturday, May 14th.

Seventh grader Aniyah Walters ran a personal best, a school record, and a Meet record in the 55 m. hurdles with a time of 8.8. The previous school record of 9.5 by Rose Bryan had stood for 28 years.

Cassidy Giudici earned Silver in the 55 m. dash, running 7.7.

Christy Pena got Bronze in the shotput, throwing 23ft, 11.5 inches.

Olivia Simpson got bronze in the 100 m. running 14.1.

The 4 x 100 m. Relay team of Aniyah Walters, Isabella Adamovicz, Emely Alfaro, and Cassidy Giudici placed third for bronze medals as well.

It was a great day for all our track athletes, and coaches Steve Savage and Rory Sherman were very proud of their great efforts!
