DECA’s Annual International Career Development Conference (ICDC) was held April 23-26 in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee. The Junior team of Ilana Desmond and Epi Ramirez and Sophomore team of Joseph VanGostein and Rachel Vaughan were accompanied by DECA advisor Ms. Deanna Kluepfel to this international competition in music city. The long weekend was full of fun, excitement, and tough competition as 18,000 students from around the world competed for top honors awarded at the Bridgestone Arena.

Thanks to the help of Whitman business teacher Ms. Deanna Kluepfel and the Business Department, Sophomores Joseph VanGostein and Rachel Vaughan secured a second place win out of 180 teams in Buying & Merchandising Operations Research Event. Joseph and Rachel’s hard work really paid off and put Walt Whitman back on the DECA map!
