We hear from art teacher Ms. Jenna Kolm, that Stimson 8th-grader Isabella Rombaldi as won the ‘Best in Grade’ award at this year’s Huntington Tulip Festival School Art Contest. Isabela will be presented her award, including a gift card from event sponsor Astoria Bank, at a reception on April 29th at Heckscher Museum. “Isabella was very creative in her piece depicting springtime at Heckscher Park,” said Ms. Kolm. Using color pencils, Isabella recreated a scene of one of the bridges in Heckscher Park. “The project took several days,” said Isabella. “I researched the park and created one piece from the different scenes that I liked.”

In her letter of congratulations, Huntington Arts Council Coordinator Ms. Peggy Low invited Isabella’s family to join in the awards celebration, and reminded everyone that the Huntington Township Tulip Festival will take place on Sunday, May 1st in Heckscher Park.
