The Walt Whitman World Language Honor Society held their annual ‘International Night Fundraiser for Unicef’ recently and lucky attendees were treated to an evening of fun and enlightenment.  With plenty of great international foods to sample, guests enjoyed performances by our talented students. Violinist Max Fisher performed "The Swan" by French Composer Camille Saint Saens, and lfedayo Balogun put on her best Italian accent singing "Can't Help Falling in Love."

Our African American Heritage Club made a wonderful presentation "Black Music Throughout History," and our Latino Dance Troup performed with distinction. Thank you to Latino dancers: Freddy Almador Martinez, Alyn Calzada, Randys Campos, Jeison Collado Rodriguez, Karla Cuellar Alas, Bryan Flores, Haydee Hernandez, Kevin Hernandez, Jordan Hernandez, Leslie Hidalgo, Alex Leon, Wendy Lopez, Eduardo Martinez, Geysel Ramos Vasquez, Rocio Ramos Vasquez, Yamilex Salamanca Lopez, and Brenda Salinas.

Stephanie Bishop got everyone’s attention with her Belly Dance to "C'est a vie!" and Jordan Chen and Joe Kaye performed a traditional Chinese Dance. The band “10 Below 17” played a couple numbers that was very well received. Thank you band members: James Reilly, Dylan Diamond, Bijan Tabibzada, Isaac Renderos, Matt Cusamano, JD Sterbens, Nick Miata, and Steven Ciravolo.

The evening was very successful with donations exceeding $1500 going to Unicef. Thank you all who participated and to our community businesses for their generosity. Great job by World Language Honor Society officers Ellysandra Monegro, Gabrielle Ramirez, Aamash Mussa, Anali Nanavati, Alex Cummings, Thao Williams, Hamza Mahmood and the club’s advisor, Ms. Aileen D'Addario
