In conjunction with Read Across America and the birthday of Dr. Seuss, Countrywood invited distinguished guests to participate in their third annual Community Read-in on Wednesday, March 2nd.  This was a special day to celebrate our love of reading.  South Huntington staff including Officer Drew, Dr. Bennardo, Ms. Harris, Dr. Bloom, Dr. Centamore, Dr. D’Elia, and District PTA President Ms. Eleanora Ferrante joined Countrywood including teachers, paraprofessionals, and staff members from other buildings in this reading event.  In addition, South Huntington Librarian Lauren Roshkowski, and Board of Education members Ms. Lisa Brieff, and Ms. Laura Carey shared their loved of reading with the students.

Thank you also to the following special guest readers: Ms. Cacioppo, Dr. Lecci, Ms. Trebour, Ms. Barbato, Ms. Jonza, Ms. Korn, Ms. Harrington,  Ms. Clancy, Ms. Van Tassell, Ms. Michaelian, Ms. Giacalone, Ms. Anzalone, Ms. Crocco, Mr. Clines, Ms. Torres, Ms. Jimenez, Ms. Talledo, and Ms. Seewald.

As adults, we know that reading is one of the most significant learning experiences for children.  This program was enjoyable for students and teachers, as well as rewarding and memorable for guest readers. Community Read-In is our opportunity to make a difference and show our children that reading is FUNdamental!

Thank you to the Countrywood PTA for hosting a wonderful breakfast in the library for the guest readers.
