Walt Whitman Wrestling honored their seniors on Wednesday night as they battled Northport in the season’s final home match. The Wildcats prevailed beating their rivals 44-31.  In the 106-pound class Tom DeGaetano pinned Northport’s Tyler Meadows in 3:26.  The 113-pound class featured Kevin Romano who dispatched his opponent 8-0 in regulation time. You had to look quickly to catch Javier Dubon as he pinned his Northport opponent 1:05 minutes into the 120-pound class. Northport took the next three weight classes setting up Whitman’s Cristian Villanueva with a 12-4 win in the 145-pound class. Whitman forfeited the 152-pound class before taking a 12-6 win in the 160-pound class won by Sohrab Wahab. At 170 pounds Whitman’s David Figueroa pinned Dylan Katz in 6:24. Whitman won forfeits in both the 195 and 220 pound classes before the big guys took to the mats where Whitman senior Patrick Brady pinned Aiden Murtaugh 5:22 into the match.
