On December 2, thirteen of Walt Whitman’s business and DECA students took part in the 13th annual Huntington Young Professionals Chamber of Commerce Business Leadership Competition at St. Joseph’s College.

Walt Whitman competed against 16 Long Island high schools and 350 students. All participants were well prepared, professional, and did a fine job representing Walt Whitman during this competitive event.  Our students’ commitment, creativity, and dedication were recognized during the awards ceremony. Senior, Natalie Migliore won a second place award in the area of Entertainment Marketing. Sophomore, Joseph VanGostein earned a first place award in Entrepreneurship. The senior team of Elizabeth Fernandez and Umaimah Saleemi earned a first place award for Graphic Design.
