Pamela Carey (left) stars as the young Helen Keller, and Lauren Giglio gives an unforgettable performance as the "half-blind Yankee schoolgirl" named Annie Sullivan who breaks through Helen's walls of silence and darkness and teaches her to communicate.

The curtain rises this weekend when the Walt Whitman High School Theater Production of “The Miracle Worker” opens in the Performing Arts Center on Friday evening at 7:30 PM, with a Saturday matinee at 2 PM, and another evening show at 7:30 PM.

"The Miracle Worker" is a powerful show that chronicles the life and times of Helen Keller, with an emphasis on the powerful impact of her teacher, Ms. Annie Sullivan. It is literally incredible to feel the struggles and triumphs as Helen Keller and her family cope with remarkable challenges in a most heartfelt, human manner.

We invite you all to join us for the show and experience the talent inherent in our South Huntington students and staff.
