Hi All

Below, please find the written letter that accompanies today's holiday video address from Dr. Bennardo, Wildcat Marching Band Drum Major Paige Tortorice and Whitman Natural Helper and Theater Company member Julio Taku.

From Dr. Bennardo –

I want to take a moment to wish the members of our school community a very Happy, Healthy Thanksgiving holiday.  These next few days provide the perfect opportunity to dial back the pace, tune out the national and local news, and give thanks for the countless blessings in our lives.  I can think of no better way to honor this amazing community and beautiful nation than to thank you all for your warm support and genuine friendship that you provide to our students, faculty, and staff.  South Huntington is a remarkable place, and the bonds that bind us and make our learning family special are unbreakable and forever proud.  I hope your Thanksgiving table is filled with love and you are touched by the magic of family and friends alike.

From Paige Tortorice –

Hello! I’m Paige Tortorice, a senior at Walt Whitman High School. As we come to the end of the first quarter of the year, we’re entering a holiday that’s meant to be full of gratefulness, friends and family. It’s also a perfect time to relax and reboot for the next month ahead! This year so far has been full of many successful events throughout the community, and there are only more to come! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving full of delicious food and great memories!”

From Julio Taku -

The second quarter is my favorite quarter of the year; not just because it allows a fresh start in all classes, but because it marks the holiday season. As the leaves turn their red, yellow, brown, and amber colors for the fall season, only to be succeeded by the pure white of snow, let us keep in mind all the moments, people, and adventures from this year. You know as well as I do, that New Year’s Eve will be here in the blink of an eye. So let's take this time to be thankful for all the things that have brought us where we are as a community and individuals.

A Combined Concluding Thought -

So from our family to yours, please enjoy a bright, beautiful holiday weekend and remember the blessings that each and every member of our community brings to this special learning family.  Be well and have a great Thanksgiving.
