There is a big world to explore inside a dictionary and this third-grader from Birchwood is excited to get going.

Mr. John J Safarik, of Elks National Foundation Lodge 1565 in Huntington, along with Bob Vanderburgh and Alyssa Nightingale, both from our local Elks Lodge, were at Birchwood Intermediate School last week to donate dictionaries to each of our third-graders.

Birchwood third-graders accepted this special donation from our community with gratitude and bright smiles.  The students shared in their excitement by locating all that the dictionaries had to offer, including the longest word in the English language!  Birchwood students will use this fantastic resource for many years to come!

Who are the Elks? Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, by undertaking projects that address unmet need, and by honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans.
