The Girls Varsity Tennis Team was led by their seniors as they battled John Glenn High School recently.

Senior Tina O'Donnell has been a varsity starter and NYS Scholar Athlete for the past 4 years.  Tina plays 1st singles for Whitman and is a leader both on and off the court. 

Senior Misha Patel has been a Varsity starter the past 3 years and has been a NYS Scholar athlete for the past 4 years. Misha plays 2nd singles for Whitman and always goes above and beyond.  She demonstrates the true character of a champion.

Senior Sabrina Greenberg has been a Varsity starter for the past 3 years and has been a NYS Scholar athlete for the past 4 years.  Sabrina plays doubles for Whitman and her love for the game and desire to win make her a fierce competitor.

In Singles action Tina O'Donnell won multiple games for Whitman battling her opponent and demonstrated the true meaning of determination narrowly missing a victory losing in a tie breaker.  Misha Patel demonstrated precise ground strokes as she won multiple games for Whitman.  Kayla Soulias and Shailee Patel were extraordinary as they kept their opponents on their toes the entire match.

In Doubles action, Emma Coleman and Kristina Bogdani played great and worked together winning multiple games for Whitman.  Caroline Tomaselli and Allie Wirth demonstrated the true meaning of teamwork as they battled their opponents.  Sabrina Greenberg and Julia Bellontine played extremely well winning multiple games to close out the match.

On Saturday September 26th, members of the Girls Varsity Tennis team raised money for Cancer Research and participated in the Suffolk County Tennis Coaches Association Annual "Play for Pink" doubles tournament.  The tournament was held at The Hamlet Golf and Country Club in Commack.  Over 30 Doubles teams from all over Long Island participate in this great tournament.

Coach Sherman is extremely proud of the girls for raising money for such a good cause while also perfecting their doubles play.
