The Suffolk County Boys and Girls County Fencing Championships were held this past weekend and Walt Whitman has a county champion. With an incredible season record of 38 wins and only 2 losses, senior Thomas Ferrante carved through the Epee field of competition winning all of his matches. The Whitman Boys team placed 6 out of the 8 teams competing.

On the Girls side of the day, Epee fencer Alexandra Alpy placed 2nd in the counties, Isabel Sakarin place 5th in the Sabre competition, and Kayla Soulias placed 6th in the Foil finals. The Whitman girls team also place 6th overall in the competition.
