There were no tricks in the 2-0 Wildcat win in front of a boisterous and packed Whitman stadium on Friday afternoon. The boy’s varsity soccer team earned a tough win against League 1 powerhouse Ward Melville and that in it self was a beautiful treat.

Perhaps it was the pep talk by both coach John DiGiacomo and Brian Karcz at a scoreless halftime that did the trick. Either way, the Wildcats defeated Ward Melville as Witman Hernandez scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season off assists from Fabrizio Chamorro. Austin Salas made 4 saves to record the shutout.

Walt Whitman gets out of the quarterfinal round with a big win and heads to the semifinal round on Monday, November 3rd when they travel to Brentwood to take on one of Long Island's best teams at 2PM.

The team appreciates all of the support throughout the season and hope their fans can continue to support them on the road!

Congratulations Walt Whitman Boys Soccer program!
