TIME: 8 am to 3:30 pm (rain or shine)

WHERE: Walt Whitman HS North Gym parking lot 301 West Hills Rd, Huntington Station 

For the 9th year we are collecting ALL GENTLY USED CLOTHING (men’s, women’s & children’s), stuffed animals & soft household items, strollers & car-seats. Including : SHOES, BOOTS,SNEAKERS,  BELTS, HANDBAGS, BACKPACKS, BRIEFCASES, BEDDING, CURTAINS, TOWELS, small AREA RUGS, TIES, HATS, SCARVES, GLOVES, STUFFED ANIMALS, DOLLS AND SMALL HARD TOYS (no bigger than 24" x 24"), baby strollers 


South Huntington PTA Council will be paid per pound collected. ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL BE USED FOR SCHOLARSHIPS. Please forward this email to friends.

Donations will be sorted and shipped in containers to developing countries to be reused (NOT ragged). Vendor has an"A" rating with the Better Business Bureau.


A request has been made by a veteran on behalf of homeless local veterans and their families in need of assistance. In honor of Veterans Day this year on Sat. Oct 25th during our clothing drive we will be collecting items listed below. Donations will be distributed thru the Salvation Army Shelter at the Northport VA Hospital.

Please note: Keep the veteran donations separated from the used clothing drive donation bags. We will have designated tables for the veteran donations next to the clothing drive; drop-off will be 8am-3pm outside the north gym at Walt Whitman HS.  Items for veterans can be in boxes or bags. 


Requested Items (for men & women)

·        Toiletries:

o  Deodorant/antiperspirant

o  Shaving cream

o  Shampoo/conditioner

o  Alcohol free mouth wash

o  Razors

o  Soap / body wash

o  Shower shoes / flip flops (size M & L)

·        Coffee

·        Canned protein ( ie tuna, chicken , spam etc)

·        Peanut Butter

·        Jelly

·        Soup

·        Macaroni & cheese

·        Rice / Pasta/ potatoes (boxed)
