We hear from Girls Varsity Tennis Coach Rory Sherman that the WW Varsity Girls Tennis team dominated a tough Kings Park team last night (9/15) winning 5-2. 

In singles play, Tina O'Donnell and Paola Cespedes battled back from being down a set to beat their opponents in 3 sets. Eliza Wong dominated her opponent beating her in strait sets 6-4, 6-0.  Nikki Smith also gained a valuable victory for the team.

In doubles play,   The dynamic duo of Sabrina Greenberg and Laura Mc Auley demonstrated their ground strokes as the defeated their opponents 6-1, 6-1.Strong performances were also recorded by Seniors Mary Rose Stone, Elisabeth Silverman, and stand out sisters Misha and Shailee Patel.

The varsity girls next home match is Friday at 4pm.  Please come support the girls.

We hear from Girls Junior Varsity Tennis coach Seth Novick: Congratulations Girls JV Tennis:  The team has upped their winning streak to 4 with a 7-0 sweep over Kings Park.  Dominating their singles matches were Christina Bogdani, Kayla Soulias, Emma Coleman, and Julia Bellontine.  Winning their doubles matches were Ally Wirth, Caroline Tomaselli, Heather Kurash, Cinthya Ramos, and Sarah Panza.  

 

 

News from 9-12-14:

We hear from Girls Varsity Tennis Coach Rory Sherman that the team lost a nail biter last Friday 4-3 against League II leader Northport.

In singles play, Tina O'Donnell and Paola Cespedes showed their mental toughness and never quit attitude. Eliza Wong and Nikki Smith dominated their opponents winning their matches 6-3, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-1. In Doubles play, comeback kids Elisabeth Silverman and Mary Rose Stone dominated their opponents as they won another ultimate tie breaker 6-3, 6-6(3).

Misha and Shailee Patel as well as Laura Mc Auley and Sabrina Greenberg battled their opponents winning multiple games. Come support the girls as they play Huntington this Friday 9/19 at Whitman starting at 4pm. 

Girls Junior Varsity Tennis coach Seth Novick congratulates his team on another win this past Friday.  The team continued their winning ways on Friday by beating Northport 5-2.  Contributing match wins were Christina Bogdani, Emma Coleman, Julia Bellontine, Ally Wirth, and Caroline Tomaselli.  The girls hope to keep the wins coming Monday afternoon in a home match versus Kings Park.
