New York State Senator Carl L. Marcellino awarded three Walt Whitman students with the New York State Senate's Youth Leadership Recognition Awards. "The applications I receive represent a young generation of New York's future entrepreneurs and leaders who possess exceptional leadership qualities and the determination to make a difference in the future success of businesses’ and most importantly our communities." said the Senator in his congratulatory letter to our students.

The Youth Leadership Recognition Award Program is designed to highlight and congratulate well-rounded students who excel academically and have exhibited leadership through extracurricular or volunteer activities.  Students may ask faculty to nominate them, or educators may nominate junior and senior high school students on their own.

Congratulations to Sarin Grey, Michael Ospina, and Samantha Myers-Dineen.
