Stimson Solemates Get NJHS Boost

The officers of the Stimson National Junior Honor Society have had a busy year coordinating fundraisers throughout the school community. NJHS Co-Advisors Ms. Voorhees and Mr. Goldman, are please to report that NJHS Officers made a $1,500 donation recently that will go to the Stimson 'Solemates'.

The 'Solemates' are an energized and committed group of Stimson staff members who will be walking in this weekend’s LI2Day Walk. (Saturday, June 7, 2014) Proceeds from this annual LI2Day Walk support Long Island-based community and support organizations that provide services addressing the immediate needs of families struggling to cope with breast cancer.

About the walk: LI2Day Walk (13.1 Miles) – Saturday, June 7, 2014

The walk begins early Saturday morning from Smith Point County Park and proceeds along a new route of scenic water views and neighborhood streets.  The 13.1 mile route is kept safe and secure by the Suffolk County Police Department and ambulance companies.  Rest stops are frequent along the route and provide food, drinks, entertainment, goodies, first aid, and port-a-lavs. Relief vehicles are available for those needing assistance to the next rest stop or lunch.
