Back to the 80's Fashion Show, the largest Whitman PTA fundraiser for the school year was the place to be this past Friday night. Whitman junior and senior students shed their ID badges for casual and formal wear courtesy of Men’s Wearhouse, Cache, Max n Gino’s, Francesca's, Soccer Magic, Francine’s, and Nikkis Boutique.

Teachers Mr. Rob Graziano and Mr. Brian Dreher, armed with a wealth of student stats expertly supplied by Whitman’s PTA president Ms. Laci Wright, emceed the evening. PTA’s 2nd Vice President Maria Williams did a fantastic job coordinating the event. Administrators also donned outfits for the cause. Thank you Superintendent Dave Bennardo, Principal Kathie Acker, and Assistant Principals: Jon Varlamos, Colleen Grady, and Scott Muller, as well as Administrative Dean Thomas DeNicola.

A super big thank you to Gizay Michaels salon who did the students hair free of charge and were there the night of the performance to prepare them for the show.

Also deserving a big thank you was The Funky Flower Shop, located at 388 New York Avenue, who supplied corsages, boutonnieres, flowers for the girl’s hair, and a floral arrangement basket absolutely free.

The South Cafeteria was gift basket heaven, with more than 50 stuffed baskets that offered everything from Disney hopper passes, Dr. Dre Beats Headphones, a Kindle Fire, an XBOX 360, i-Pads and Music lessons to overnight stays at OHEKA Castle and Cove Haven Resorts. There was something for everyone, with the proceeds supporting the PTA’s cultural arts programs and scholarships.
