Countrywood participated in their 1st Pennies for Patients fundraising event sponsored by the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society (LLS).  During a three-week period, students collected spare change to support LLS’s mission:  To cure diseases and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Our Second Grade Student Council, under the leadership of Mrs. Burr and Mrs. Trebour, played a significant role in getting the word out and worked with the student council representatives to create a calendar of activities for the children to do at home.  Our students did an awesome job earning, or finding, money at home to fill their special box.  The youngsters proudly and excitedly carried their coin boxes into school every Friday.  Thanks to the generosity and support of the Countrywood school community, we collected over $6,015 to help patients with blood cancers live longer, better lives.
