Nine Wrestlers Head to County Championships as Calderone, Olberding, and Feola Win League Titles

At Saturday’s League II Wrestling Championships held at Northport High School, Walt Whitman had 9 wrestlers close out the day as medal winners and will now be heading to the Suffolk County Championships this Friday 2/14 at Hofstra University.

Joseph Calderone, wrestling in the 120-pound weight class, Christopher Olberding wrestling at 160 pounds, and Vincent Feola, wrestling at 220 pounds, all placed first in their respective weight classes.

Hekmat Naeemi, wrestling at 138 pounds took home silver, and Kyle McManus (126-pounds), Anthony Feola (145-pounds), Andrew Kahl (152-pounds), Terhon Legros (170 pounds), and Terron Robinson (285 pounds) all earned bronze medals.

Joe Calderone was also presented with the League's Most Outstanding Wrestler Trophy and, the Trophy for Most Pins in the Least Amount of Time. Turns out Joe pinned all 4 of his competitors in under one minute each.
