On December 21st, Erin Haddock, a Stimson Middle School eighth-grader, was presented with a first place award in the local Patriot's Pen Essay contest through Nathan Hale VFW Post #1469.  Erin’s winning essay “What Patriotism Means to Me” earned her a number of gifts including a $250 scholarship check, a planner, and an American flag patch, to name a few.  Her essay has now been entered in the regional competition and could go all the way to the national contest. Stimson Social Studies teacher Keith Gunsel also received a certificate for submitting the winning essay.

Congratulations Erin Haddock and Mr. Keith Gunsel
