The award-winning Walt Whitman marching band just completed their annual training camp, which brought them to Farmingdale University for five days and nights of intense preseason preparation. The 72-member band and their directors worked tirelessly throughout the week, perfecting their skills and sharpening the competition routine. The talented young musicians and their leaders then concluded the weeklong training with a series of performances on the Walt Whitman High School field. The band brought administrators, parents, and guests to their feet with a preview of this seasons performance titled ‘LightWaves.’  The competitive marching band season will conclude with the New York State Championships at Syracuse University on Sunday, October 27.
