Overview:   In this activity the students sort their spelling words by their vowel sounds. The students will also practice highlighting and typing into different colored circles.
Lesson Sequence:

1) Using the overhead monitor the teacher will review the week’s spelling words.
 

2) Discuss other words with the /ôr/, /är/, and /îr/ sounds. You can add them to the lists.

3) Demonstrate how to double click in the circles so that they can type in them .  Remind students that more words may always be added to the activity.

4) Complete the first one as a class. Activity may be used as an independent activity.
