Overview:  This activity will enable the student to practice using the correct helping verb by dragging the words to correctly complete each sentence . A helping  verb is a verb that helps another verb show action.

Lesson Sequence:

1) Using the overhead monitor the teacher will re- introduce the concept of helping  verbs.

2) Review that a helping verb is a verb that helps another verb show action. For example: Is, are, am was, and were can be helping verbs.  She was jumping.  They are writing.   The boys were brothers.
3) Read the directions, Drag a helping verb to complete each sentence correctly. Review how to drag a word to a new position on the screen.

4) Complete the first one as a class. Activity may be use as an independent activity.
